To Have Loved and Lost

This week's Love Q from tot's mom.

There is a saying that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. But to have loved and lost means painful negative emotions such as hurt, disappoinment, betrayal, depression, anger and the feeling of being abandoned may take root in our hearts. This is true especially when a relationship sours. On the other hand, if there is no love affair, we don’t have to put ourselves at risk with these deep unhappy feelings although life may just be more monotonous.

So for Love Q #4:

Is it really better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all?

Answer:

For me is a big YES. Because pain and suffering is part of our life. And there is no what we called "challenges" if we can't feel those things. Loving and losing someone have reason, it surely be for the better for the one who experience it and it can help everyone to grow.

For this week, please link Mae and JM up. As usual, write up your answer with a link to Short Sweet Love Poems and don’t forget to leave your comments here afterwards with your post URL.

You put up an interesting line of thought there - that the challenges are a learning process that encourages our growth. Is it possible to learn the same lessons without the pain? Or is looking at the scenario not as "lost" but just "changed" that makes the difference ... sigh ...

you are right, we learnt from experience although most of the time we have to pay it with "pain"...

How true! Pain and suffering are part of life. Guess we just have to experience them, learn and then move on. Thanks for the answer!
