Brains or Brawn

This week’s Love Q from tot's mom page is focused on the ladies.

Just a simple general question that have to do with your own preferences when it comes to men.
Given a choice, would you rather date a man with brains or brawn?
Don’t be greedy and tell me you want both, ok? Just for fun, pick one and tell me why one is better than the other for you. And maybe, we can all have a laugh over it.
>>> Man with brains of course. I think he is much fun to be with.

Being Friends With Your Ex

Albert Camus once said, “Friendship often ends in love; but love in friendship - never.” I think many people can certainly relate to this rule - that it is hard to be mates with your ex.
But there are also people who can still forge a friendship with their ex, especially after all the commotion has died down and the decision to split up is mutual. They will still call and see each other now and then. Perhaps for some, the caring feelings are still there although any romantic notions may have disappeared.

For this week’s Love Q, let’s take a look at this issue:
Is it advisable to maintain a great friendship with an ex? Would that friendship be worth it or would it complicates matters?

>>>Ex...as in Ex boyfriend..lol..yeah i can be friend with my ex...who is he anyway?hehe..being friend is really the nice way to be after the broke up in relationship though i observed from some of my friends that it's hard for them, like those who broke up because of one's fault...but i do agree on friendship after breaking up..:D...sounds sweet ;) and also when you are in current relationship and you are happy, im sure you will forget the past as in the Ex :)

For this week....

Different people tend to have different attractions and turn-offs when it comes to the dating game. For example, when we are meeting someone new, we all focus on different things such as the looks, eyes, figure, legs, clothes or the way the person talks or walks to form an opinion on him or her.
I know of men who mentally strike off a woman as potential date by looking at her legs and I also know of women who judge a man by the way he eats. If we can have a little fun this week for

Let’s answer this:
What are the things that you tend to focus on when it comes to sizing up a potential mate during that crucial first encounter? The way he makes me smile and laugh. I usually focus on how he communicate with me and to others while we are together.

Gifts on Occassions

Another Love Q from tot's mom.

Usually, in the early days of a relationship or marriage, buying each other gifts especially on certain occasions is a must. We take the trouble and the time to shop for a gift to make it really special.
But as time goes on, we may still buy a gift or two but it is no longer as important as both become a little too comfortable with each other. Sometimes, people may even skip buying gifts altogether after a few years into a relationship.
So, for Love Q, let me pose this:
Do you think buying gifts is important in a relationship? And do you expect a gift from your partner now and then?

>>> Material gifts for me is not so important but if you can afford something to give for your love ones in a special occassion of course it's appreciated as its one way of letting her/him know that you are thinking of her/him. And it's good to cherish each special day with a special attention or a gift from the one you love.

Staying For The Sake Of The Kids

In many relationships, people grow out of love. They change along the way with one partner drifting further and further away from the other on an emotional level.
But many also choose to stick together and go through the motions because of the kids. They may not adore each other anymore but because they share the same priority, happiness is sacrificed to function as a family unit.
It is a sad situation but I think it is also a reality among many married couples today. My question to you this week for Love Q:

Should couples stay together for the sake of the kids when love is no longer present? Can it work?

>>>>In this case, i think is best to stay together because as couple they are already became one in the eyes of God and to everybody. Eventhough that something change with their feelings to each other but they have the responsibility to be there for their kids and there's still possibility that they can work for their relationship when they are close than being apart. And because they fell inlove before, its possible that they will fall inlove again.

For this weeks Love Q

We all know that different people have different perspectives over money. Some are pretty insecure and make it a point to try to account for every penny their partners spend. They insist on a joint account and money to be pooled together.
Then there are others who have this thinking that what is mine is mine and what is yours is yours. In other words, they maintain independent accounts although they may have an understanding of who pays for what.
There are certainly pros and cons to this issue. For instance, if you pool your money together, you are taking steps to save for the future. On the other hand, if you have separate accounts, there is not much pressure to account for money spent which may be better for the relationship as a whole.
For Love Q : let me pose this: Should you have a joint account with your partner? And should you keep tabs on what he or she may be spending on?
>>>It's better to have joint account because it shows the bind between the two but they should be responsible enough to spend money or decide spending on the right things.

Appearance When Dating

When we first start out on a relationship, we will usually try to look our best. We will think a little (or a lot) of what to wear, which perfume to put on and so on. After a while, though, when the excitement has died down and we start to get comfortable in the relationship, many tend to slack on their appearance.

Which brings me to Love Q:

Does appearance matter in a relationship? Should you always try to look your best for your date?
Its nice to look best anytime. For me, i am not "trying hard" when talking about looks. I usually wear anything that i am comfortable with and that is right to where is the venue on the said date, but i am more concern of the tidiness. And i agree that "simplicity is beauty".

Cheating on your partner - Should you confess?

Nowadays, having extra-marital affairs is not something uncommon. Many people get involved with a third party at some point in their relationship and they would try to hide the affair from their partner.
But then there is always the feeling of guilt. And having two relationships at the same time just isn’t sustainable in the long term. So, if you break off the affair without your partner ever knowing that you have cheated, would you confess at some point?
Telling means hurting someone you care about with the ensuing distrust, grief and insecurity being felt by him or her. You may also lose the person in the process. Not telling means you are lying and not being fair to your partner when you should.

So, for Love Q :

If you have cheated on your partner, would you confess?
>>> this is kinda a very hard Q to answer. But for me if i cheated my partner in any way i prefer to say it coz im the kind of person that can't fight my conscience if i done something wrong, i need to let it out and say it to whoever i done wrong. But cheating is a very BIG NO for me. Why commit in relation if you just want to ruin it by cheating?

But if you are the one being cheated upon, would you prefer your partner to tell or not to tell?
>>> i prefer him to say it to me, it's better that i know the "cheating" and be hurt than being stupid and stay innocent about it. And its a way to work on something or do something about your relation with your partner, it's either to go on or to go out in that relationship.

Past Relationships

Some people go by the saying that honesty is the best policy. So, they would rather reveal everything to their partner upfront, including details of their past relationships.
On the other hand, others prefer to keep mum believing that there is little point in delving about the past as what is more important is the present and the future.
Would you want your partner to know how many people you have slept with in the past? Or how you have cheated on someone you once dated, for example? So, talking about your past relationships to your current partner can indeed be a difficult issue.
On to Love Q:

How frank should you be with your partner when it comes to your past relationships? How much of the details should you reveal?
>>> I really don't like digging on about the past. For me past is past and i am more concern in our relationship and on our future. But when my partner wants to know about my past relationships, i am very willing to tell him everything about it.

When To Marry

In the US, statistics show that the average marriage age for men is 27 while for women is 25 in recent years. In the UK, the average age is slightly higher with 30 for men and nearly 28 for women.

However, I’m sure we have also come across people who marry very young when they are still in their teens on one extreme as well as people who marry when they are past 40 on the another.

For Love Q #9, consider this:

How young is too young to get married? To put it another way, what is your ideal age to get married and why?
Answer:
I will go for US statistics. I guess it is the right age to get married. And thinking its too young for teens like 15 to early 20's to tied up to build their own family. Eventhough not all young ages like this think immature but still i think it will be a hard time for adjustment because marriage is not just for fun in a shortime but is a serious lifetime commitment.

First Date Turn-Offs

When you decide to go on a first date with another person, you would naturally have certain expectations of him or her. And if the person fails to meet those expectations, that might well end up as a turn-off and there certainly won’t be a second date to come.
Some people find being late is a huge turn-off. Others can’t stand their dates chatting on the cell phone, leaving them waiting for the conversation to end. Talking about an ex in detail is also a big no-no to many.

So, for Love Q #8, let’s share this:
What would turn you off when it comes to the first date?
Answer:
What had mentioned above is all a turn-off to me. And chatting on cellphone while you are there waiting is the very first thing. Its like he showing you that you are not important and he not giving you respect for that. Other turn-off for me is that bringing chaperon with him. For me, this shows that he can't stand alone.

Is Love Enough?

Many people believe that love is everything in a relationship. We all marry for love expecting that it will see us through the good and bad times. Love gives rise to passion and can make our lives happier.
But in a relationship, we cannot love in isolation. We may have people around us with nothing good to say about our partner. We also cannot survive on love. We need money and the lack of it may lead to quarrels. We certainly cannot expect our partner to change to suit us. We need to accept and even tolerate his character or bad habits. And a host of other issues confront us daily that test the strength of our relationship with our partner.

So, for Love Q #7, tell me this:

Is love alone enough in a relationship?

My answer for this Q is No. Of course love is one of the first and most important thing in relationship or in getting married. But there are a lot of factors to be considered, like the trust and understanding characteristic of each partner for we know we are unique. And for financial matters, its just a material thing that can be found if we will just work for it.

Criterias For Choosing A Mate

Some people prefer their partners to have good looks. Some would rather they have the money. Others, on the other hand, would think inner beauty should supercede everything else. In short, different people have different sets of criterias when looking for a partner.

What are your top 5 criterias for choosing a mate, in order of priority? In other words, what is your ideal partner like?

Answer:
1. God fearing
2. He is family oriented - one who loves his family
3. Have a good sense of humour

4. Have trust in me
5. NOT a drinker and smoker

The First Date

Love Q for this week from tot's mom.

All females want equality but some still prefer their partners to be old-fashioned gentlemen. Other women, on the other hand, would like everything to be on an equal footing. So, when it comes to the first date, this question arises for Love Q #5:

Do you think a man should pay on the first date and if he doesn’t, what would be your impression of him?

Answer:
I'm thinking that my date is a gentleman, of course i choose who i will go date with. So being that kind of man, im sure he will be the one to pay and to think it's a first date. If he doesn't? He better tell me before the date.

For this week, lets give Annz and Mountaingirl some link love.

To Have Loved and Lost

This week's Love Q from tot's mom.

There is a saying that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. But to have loved and lost means painful negative emotions such as hurt, disappoinment, betrayal, depression, anger and the feeling of being abandoned may take root in our hearts. This is true especially when a relationship sours. On the other hand, if there is no love affair, we don’t have to put ourselves at risk with these deep unhappy feelings although life may just be more monotonous.

So for Love Q #4:

Is it really better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all?

Answer:

For me is a big YES. Because pain and suffering is part of our life. And there is no what we called "challenges" if we can't feel those things. Loving and losing someone have reason, it surely be for the better for the one who experience it and it can help everyone to grow.

For this week, please link Mae and JM up. As usual, write up your answer with a link to Short Sweet Love Poems and don’t forget to leave your comments here afterwards with your post URL.

Love Q for the week

When it comes to matters of the heart, often times we are blinded by emotions. We act irrationally and love is also illogical. But love resides in our heart and it is our heart that tells us if we are happy or sad. Comparatively, our head gives us power of reasoning and logic which helps to prevent us from being hurt or betrayed. In life, we do need to be rational but rationality do not bring love and happiness although it protects.

So, for Love Q #2:
When it comes to love, is it better to follow your head or your heart?

Answer:
Talking about love, we feel it in our hearts but for me it will be wiser when we both use our heart and head. Our head will think the right decision on how our heart feels. So both must work for LOVE.

I know im late here again..hehe..

Love Q #1

First, i want to thanks tot's mom for inviting me join her Love Q meme.
For this week's Love Q:

If you are being romantically pursued but you are not interested, what would you do to let the person know? For instance, would you be direct and blunt or would you drop hints?

ANSWER: As my experience in this kind of situation, i tried not to hurt any guy's feeling. I dropped hints but when they still can't get those hints then that's the time that i directly tell them that i'm not interested but it's surely in a nice way that sometimes will made them turn out as my friends.
